29th Annual CSU Biotechnology Symposium
Thursday – Saturday, January 5-7, 2017
The annual CSU Biotechnology Symposium program is designed to broaden exposure to cutting-edge biotechnologies, product-focused innovation and the spectrum of career paths available in the life sciences. The symposium brings CSU students, faculty and administrators together, along with biotech professionals working in academia, government and industry. Faculty and administrators system-wide, along with community college colleagues, use the event to catch up, initiate collaborations, share ideas and swap lessons learned.
The 29th annual CSU Biotechnology Symposium will run from Thursday (Jan. 5) through Saturday (Jan. 7th). The Biotech + Design Workshop will start Thursday morning (10 am), but all other events will begin around noon on Thursday. The symposium wraps up around 9 pm Saturday night after the Awards Banquet.
On Sunday, January 8th, the CSUPERB Faculty Consensus Group meets at the Santa Clara Marriott. As part of their morning agenda, the group will be discussing non-academic career paths with Dr. Bruce Alberts (UCSF). The meeting is open to interested CSU faculty.

The Santa Clara Marriott is the host venue for this year’s symposium. The hotel (“M” in the map below) is a ~5-10 minute taxi ride from Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC).
